At the beginning of Term 3, we began our exciting new Acting For The Stage classes.
The classes are taught by a highly experienced professional actor and teacher and provide students with an opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of dramatic acting.
The students have been thoroughly enjoying the program and are looking forward to performing their end of term presentation Ingrid The Pirate on Thursday September 27th at 4.30pm. If you’re interested in joining the class and would like to see the performance, telephone the Theatre Bugs office who make arrangements for you to attend.
Here are a few words, from one of very talented participants, Samantha Keough:
“Working with Brant over the past 7 weeks has been an absolute pleasure. At the beginning of the term, he introduced exercises that tackled our nervousness towards performance. I found Brant to be a character that loves to laugh at his own jokes, and a huge Shakespeare enthusiast! In class, we have recently been working on one of Brant’s original scripts. It is clear that while we are acting, he gives us just enough room to develop our own characters’ stories, but always has an endless amount of helpful feedback. I have learned a lot about presence and delivery on stage. But improvisation is a key element in our classes, body language and movement, blocking and wimping… the list goes on.“Acting for the Stage” feels to me to be a massive success. I believe my acting skills have really grown thanks to this new class and the wonderful teacher teaching it.”
